PTFE Tube

PTFE tubes are also named PTFE pipes or Teflon tube which are divided into two types by different process: extrusion PTFE tube and molded PTFE tube. The extruded PTFE tube can be very long which is commonly used for corrosive medium fluid pipelines, insulation sheaths, and transmission shaft covers. Molded PTFE tube’s length is limit by mould so it is short and can be machined into various non-standard parts and used as non stick materials. 

PTFE tube have a wide temperature range and can be used for a long time at -180 Deg.C~250 Deg.C under normal pressure. However, after being treated at a high temperature of 250 Deg.C for 1000 hours, their mechanical properties show little change. Due to its non polarity, heat resistance, and non water absorption, PTFE tube is an excellent electrical insulation material, commonly used for insulation sheaths.

PTFE tube has excellent chemical stability and can withstand all strong acids, alkalis and oxidants; PH available range 0-14. PTFE tube has a very low friction coefficient and is a good self-lubricating material. Its static friction coefficient is smaller than the dynamic friction coefficient, so it has the advantages of low starting resistance and smooth operation when used to make bearings. Therefore, among known plastic pipes, it has the lowest friction coefficient and the best corrosion resistance. PTFE tubes are usually resistant to various organic solvents and are commonly used in corrosive fluid medium pipelines and fittings.
